Today, we are doing a simpler version of the Lightsaber Hilt Napkin Rings. This easier version requires less time, less mess, and less sharp tools… but is just as much fun to make…maybe even more so. ‘Cuz who doesn’t enjoy doing crafts with paper towel rolls and Duct tape 🙂
Darth Maul
DIY Lightsaber Hilt Napkin Rings (Part 1)
I have mentioned before that my mom (“M4P Mom”), regularly calls with ideas for the blog. Unfortunately, she has more ideas than we have time. What we really need are some Minions to keep up. (Where are Bob, Kevin, and Stewart when we need them?)
So we have to prioritize – and doing these Lightsaber Hilt Napkin Rings were a no-brainer. I think this is one of the coolest things we have done in a long time, here at May the Fourth Central.
Darth Maul Perler Pixel Pattern
Darth Maul has seen a big resurgence in the past couple of weeks with the release of the Star Wars fan film Darth Maul: Apprentice by Shawn Bu. I’m glad! (And if you haven’t seen it, take a look here)
Though I don’t hate the prequels (as many do), I do think they have their problems. One of the biggest being how little screen time Darth Maul is given. A back story, as well as more scenes to set up his skills, abilities and “evilness” would have gone a long way to add suspense and urgency to The Phantom Menace.
DIY Darth Maul Christmas Shirt
Day 5 of the M4P exclusive Christmas Star Wars vector downloads. Darth Maul would be a perfect gift for all the Grinches out there. Now, I was going to close out with “Bah, Humbug!”, but I treasure this time of year too much to write it even in jest. So let’s go with “Early wishes of a wonderful Christmas” instead.
…And we’ll back tomorrow with one last vector pattern for y’all.
Revenge of the Fifth! (DIY Party Darth Maul Shirts)
Ask, and you shall receive! Here is a pattern for a Sith version of the extremely popular M4P party shirts we posted yesterday… just for you guys who prefer to party it up today instead (You HAVE heard of Revenge of the Fifth, right?)! I have not had time to make an actual shirt of this pattern yet, so if you make one, please send a picture to us and I will post it here! (remember it is a family blog though!)
