Ahsoka has been in the news a lot lately. Being the fan-mom of a fan-girl, I am just thrilled! There has also bee a bit of an uproar about the lack of female Rebels toys and the omission of Leia in the new Star Wars figure set. This not only sad for ALL the fans, but a incredibly puzzling marketing decision on the part of the toy manufacturers. It’s like they don’t want to make money!

Death Star Perler Bead Coaster
Obi-Wan: That’s no moon… It’s a space station!
Han: It’s too big to be a space station!
Star Wars was huge, it was revolutionary! It was a social event! These days we all get our news and entertainment fixes from such varied sources, that it is hard to imagine that we will ever have such a common entertainment experience again. That blue black/gold white dress had everyone talking… But it will be forgotten in a few weeks. The last season of Breaking Bad was big, but still nowhere near the “Who shot JR” experience. So the Death Star, was, huge! Not just in size on screen, but also in impact. There are other newer sci-fi movies that might rival Star Wars in quality, fun and even entertainment value. However the Star Wars trilogy, is common experience that will be remembered, long after those other sci-fi movies have been forgotten.
Luke Skywalker Perler Bead Coaster
So young. So innocent. That’s what I thought anyway until I watched Robot Chicken. There are a handful of scenes in the Star Wars movies that will just never be the same again. Luke at Uncle Owen’s breakfast table is one of them. Who would have thunk that the Tosche station was not, erhm, really a store?

I heard that the Battle of Endor in Return of the Jedi, was supposed to take place with Wookiees on their planet Kashyyyk, and not with Ewoks on the Forest Moon of Endor. Personally, I have to say that does seem like a better idea, considering how divisive the Ewoks are. And everyone loves a Wookiee! Continue reading
Asajj Ventress Perler Bead Coaster
I have admit I have not read any of the Star Wars books, so I am not very familiar with the Canon parts of Star Wars. So when the Cartoon Network’s Clone Wars shorts came out, I was thrilled by a (to me) totally new character! Sure, she was kinda evil, but she had style, panache and she kicked butt!
Anakin at the Podrace Perler Bead Coaster
Anakin was only 9 when he won the Boonta Eve Classic. Plucky, smart, precocious, and already VERY confident. He is the only character we get to watch grow up on screen in the series, and doing so (knowing how his fate), is the single best part of the Prequel trilogy. Especially watching the movies again, while seeing my own kids growing up, Anakin’s arc takes on a very different emotion – bitter-sweet and terrifying all at once.
