I know, I know! I promised to have all the May the Fourth be with You Party shirt downloadable patterns to you in plenty of time for the big day, so I better get going… Here is R2-D2, who despite some stiff competition this year, is still holding the top spot for our favorite droid ever.
Downloadable Imperial and Rebel Wine Labels
There are always a lot of kids at our Star Wars parties. But, I would totally be lying if I said we did this for the children. Nope, it entirely for us adults! So along with the PG-rated beverages, we naturally have some potables too, just for the adults.
For last year’s May the Fourth be with You Party we made our own wine labels – both Red and White. So the question for our guests became, Dark or Light? Empire or Rebels? Sith of Jedi? Unbridled passion or cool rational thought? Make sure you watch your friends’ wine choices – they might say more about them than you would have guessed.
Mature Luke Skywalker Perler Pixel Pattern
The big question on everybody’s mind when The Force Awakens movie posters came out was: Where is Luke? Well, we now know there was a reason he was missing from the posters (BTW, brilliant marketing guys!), and just like the movie, we have been saving Luke for the very, very end. Today is the last of our The Force Awakens pixel pattern series.
The Very First May the Fourth be with You Party (DIY Death Star Bowls)
We had our very first May the Fourth be with You Party in 2011. Yup, that was way before “May the Fourth be with You” was even a thing. If you check Wikipedia it says its very first occurrence was in 2011.
It was early April that same year, and I remember someone on the radio (I think NPR) mentioning that “May the Fourth” was coming up. They said that the date was a special day for Star Wars fans, and the radio crew sounded pretty amused at the idea. I got so excited I hollered out loud: THAT IS THE COOLEST THING EVER!!! (Deep breath!) WE HAVE TO THROW A PAAARTYYYY! (We had just celebrated “pi-day”, so the idea of throwing a Star Wars party was a small leap.)
Obi-Wan Cornobi
There are 2 kinds of Star Wars dishes: dishes that are based on food featured in the movies (+ TV shows and books), and food that is inspired by Star Wars. Since there are only a handful of dishes actually featured in the Star Wars universe, here at M4P central we spend most of our time trying to be inspired. Good thing we have help! The Obi-Wan Cornobi dish is one do the funniest dishes we have had at our May the Fourth be with You Party, and it comes courtesy of M4P friend Linda.
Starkiller Base Perler Pixel Pattern
Bigger, badder, and just like all of Kylo Ren’s and General Hux’s ideas, completely over the top.
I can imagine their brainstorming session:
KR: The Death Star was really cool. Darth Vader was a genius.
GH: Hrmph, he failed! He was not thinking BIG enough.
KR: WOAH! You mean A BIGGER Death Star?
GH: Yes. The problem with the first 2 Death Stars was that they were not big enough to conquer the universe. The New Order is more powerful than the Empire ever was, and as such we need something that will cause the appropriate fear and destruction throughout the galaxy. We need a (Hux almost whispers)… Starkiller Base… made from a real planet.
KR: #$&*#(@ BADASS!
