Marriage is full of compromises. Whose family do you spend Christmas with? Who takes the trash out? PCs or Macs?
Before I got married, my Christmas tree was one of my favorite things. Not that it was fancy or anything. it was that it had to be “just so.” It had to look like I remembered my family’s tree from my childhood. Then I get engaged, and my fiancée tells me he collects Hallmark Star Wars ornaments, and wants to put them up in the tree!!!
In MY tree!? No way! There was no compromising with “my” tree!
The first Christmas after we got married, I wrapped our staircase with pine garland and put all the Star Wars ornaments there. It looked nice!
Then a couple of years later, we got a small tree JUST for the Star Wars ornaments (with coordinating glass ornaments of course) and put it up in the bedroom. It looked even nicer!
Now, I am proud to say that I finally come around. All the Hallmark Star Wars ornaments are up in our living room tree. And not only does it look great, it makes all of us happy!
On that note, have a fun Christmas, and amid all the festivities don’t forget the reason for the Season. Have a Fantastic, Blessed Christmas!
