Today I am going to do some entirely unsolicited bragging about a friend of mine (and by extension a friend of you guys): Gene Ha! If you are not familiar with his work yet, I am going to pause for a little bit while you click on this link, and take a look at his work. You back? Amazing, right? He is one of the best comic book artists in the biz today.
One of the best parts of having creative friends is that you get to be inspired by their work. And if you are really lucky, you even get to be part of their creative process in some way. Gene just did these markers drawings of our #1 and the Little Guy dressed as Rey and Finn, and I just had to share them with y’all. To have him draw our kids is just such an amazing treat. I can’t wait to get them framed, and prominently displayed on our walls.
Now, if you are lucky enough to get to a ComiCon that he is working (see appearances on his website), you really have to make sure to make it to his table. Time allowing he does free sketches for kids! He believes that an appreciation of comic books and all art, as well as developing a sense of creativity, start very early. He loves to encourage budding artists. So go over to his table and say hello, look at his work, and definitely pick up a copy of his new self-published book Mae.
