Seeing the new trailer, I am itching to make patterns of The Force Awakens characters. I am hoping to have the 5 new core characters designed and posted before the movie opens up – so stay tuned! In the meantime, here is one of the ships that is used in The Force Awakens, as well as the original movies.
Silly Mommy, Tricks (-or-Treat) is for Kids!
Since I am a kid at heart, I figured I am allowed to enjoy trick-or-treating as much as the kids do. But I don’t dress up. Well, I don’t dress up MUCH.
The trick is to dress up enough to reinforce the theme, but not so much that you take the focus away from the little ones…
The Littlest Nerfherder (DIY Han Solo Holster)
Without a good holster, your blaster might get stuck, and then Greedo will shoot first…and we all know how terrible THAT would be. (DON’T get me started!)
With the exception of the holster, Han Solo’s costume was probably the simplest Star Wars costume we have made to date. It was done in a just a few hours. The holster on the other hand took some tinkering – but worth it, it is what makes Han’s costume cool!
Lando Calrissian Perler Bead Coaster
There is no one as smooth as Lando. He is by far the best ladies man in Star Wars. Obi-Wan is a too much like our dad. Qui-Gon, nice, but, honestly, a bit boring. Mace is cool, but dangerous. Leggings Lekku! (DIY Ahsoka Costume)
Homemade costumes make me smile! Every year at our party, we get a few people who make their own simple but brilliant costumes. This year, my favorite homemade costume was Ahsoka. I was told it was made in just a couple of hours (the night before, mostly with things found at home), and it is just brilliant in its simplicity.
Who knew Chewie had a Purse? (DIY Wookiee Belt and Bag)
It’s kinda funny how you can see something so many times, and you still don’t really SEE it. I think we do that in all parts of life. We do it to our partners, friends, parents, kids, our surroundings… we often fail to appreciate how amazing they really are.
‘Can’t tell you how many times I have seen the Star Wars movies, yet I had no idea there was a bag on the bandolier across Chewie’s chest. My hubby, who has seen the movies at least five times as many times as me, had not noticed either. Oops. Must be all the fur in the way.
