This Pixel Monday post is a follow-up on last week’s post and pattern of Darth Vader: today we have Vader’s TIE Advanced (TIE Fighter). I always though it was very interesting that Vader did not simply stay in the safety of the Death Star or his Imperial Star Destroyer. He got right in the action. I love how different that makes him from Kylo Ren.
Darth Vader is the greatest, and most influential villain in any movie ever made. I am usually not one for hyperbole, but really, I don’t think there is much to argue with here. Even if you don’t like Star Wars, or you don’t particularly LIKE Vader, you have to respect the character for what he is: Our Greatest Hopes and Greatest Fears all wrapped into one.
Liam Neeson was a rather unexpected action hero. With the exception of a few movies (most notable Darkman in 1990), when he starred in The Phantom Menace, he was really only know for serious dramas like Schindler’s List, Rob Roy and Michael Collins. That he would do a Star Wars movie surprised many, including me. I thought he was too serious and maybe even “high brow” for a movie as “fun” as Star Wars. Turns out the casting was an inspired move.
Rebels is a REALLY good TV show (the season 2 finale was fantastic!), but I have to admit I still miss Clone Wars (BOTH series). Perhaps this is because the 2 Clone Wars were darker than Rebels has been up to this point… (which is probably why I thought the scary season finale of Rebels was so awesome). The best 3 characters to come out of Clone Wars are Ahsoka, Asajj Ventress and of course CT-7567 (Rex) – and our whole family is thrilled that 2 of those characters are back in Rebels.
My son desperately wants to be a Jawa for our upcoming May the Fourth Party. He is about the right height, and has about the right temperament (he loves to instigate trouble ) so the fit is perfect. He has been practicing for months, walking around saying… Hutini! Fustini! Wutini! Rotini!
Brash, handsome, sullen and a total know-it-all. Anakin is devastatingly charming when he wants to be, but seems to have a big chip on his shoulder the rest of the time.
There is a lot of Anakin bashing regarding the prequels, but I think most of it is unfair. If you think about it, Anakin behaves pretty much like any normal teenagers (he was about 19 in Attack of the Clones). He struggles with insecurity, while at the same time he acts like he is infallible and invincible. He knows he has this amazing ability, but like most kids, does not have a clue how to appropriately use his talent.
