Today we have the counterpart to last week’s C-3PO costume post: R2-D2! I made it a few years back, when #1 was almost 4 years old. She wore it for 2 Halloweens, as well as a few parties, so by the time our son was ready to wear it (and we took all these photos), it had been dinged, dirtied, squished, bent, ripped and stepped on more than a few times.

Despite being right in the middle of the Rio SUMMER Olympics, we only have 2.5 months left to Halloween! That means it is time to start planning our 2017 Star Wars costumes! Before I get started on this year’s however, as promised, here is the instructions for #1’s C-3PO from last fall.
Op Art Spy (DIY Bazine Netal Costume)
Bazine Netal is only on the screen for a few seconds, but visually she is one of the most striking characters in The Force Awakens. Her almost Op-Art-y outfit makes her just pop off the screen. So we were just so thrilled when one of our guests dressed up as Bazine for the 2016 May the Fourth be with You Party.
New and Improved! Lightsaber 2.0 (DIY Foam Noodle Lightsabers)
For generations, the lightsaber has been know across the galaxies as the weapon of heroes. Elegant, swift, lightweight and very effective in the right hands. One could assume such a design would never be improved upon. However, with version 2.0 we have added an amazing new feature! Now you do not have to cry if it gets wet from a spilled Banta milk, or wipe off all that Tauntaun spit. It is perfectly safe if you plan on visiting Otoh Gunga. The new and improved Lightsaber 2.0 is waterproof and, it floats!
