Halloween 2016: The Force Awakens Edition!
After the kids saw The Force Awakens last year, they immediately made me promise to make them Rey and BB-8 costumes for Halloween. And to be perfectly honest, it didn’t take much convincing.

I’m thrilled to finally share our kids’ Halloween costumes for 2016: Rey and BB-8! (YES, that BB-8 in the picture is a costume) Last weekend, both our little Star Wars fans got all dressed up and we took a bunch of photos. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Chopper is the funniest and silliest of the Star Wars: Rebels characters, so that makes him the automatic favorite of our 4-year old son. It’s the Ewok and Jar Jar effect (who he also loves), though I think I can safely say that Chopper is not as panned by adults as the furry creatures, nor as despised as our lanky, pink friend.
10 days left until Halloween! Not much time if you are making your own costume. We have been tinkering with ours for 2 weeks already, and are not done yet (1 done, 1 halfway done), but we will be done this weekend. However, if you have not started yet, there is still plenty of time to make an original costume: Rey is one of the easiest Star Wars characters to improvise with things you already have at home.
One of the best reasons to watch Star Wars: Rebels is how it broadens our understanding and knowledge of the Star Wars universe. The show is wonderful on its own merit, but the bridge it creates between the Original Trilogy, the Prequels and Clone Wars makes it almost required watching for any fan.
We are currently working on this year’s Halloween costumes. Last night, my daughter tried her’s on. As she was grinning from ear to ear, she said the sweetest thing: When I wear the costumes you make for me, I feel warm inside.
