Today, we are doing a simpler version of the Lightsaber Hilt Napkin Rings. This easier version requires less time, less mess, and less sharp tools… but is just as much fun to make…maybe even more so. ‘Cuz who doesn’t enjoy doing crafts with paper towel rolls and Duct tape 🙂

Faster and More Intense Podcast Featuring… Us!!!
Last week was an exciting week for our blog: I was interviewed for my very first podcast!!
I had the great pleasure of talking to Shiloh Kamrath, who runs the podcast Faster and More Intense.** Shiloh and I spend about 15 minutes chatting about the May the Fourth be with You Party Blog: how it all got started, some of our favorite posts, and what the rest of the M4P crew and I are planning next.

Jar Jar’s “Mesa” Soup (Miso Soup)
Actual conversation in our house, the day The Force Awakens opened…
My 4-year-old son (dressed in Darth Vader jacket): Yoda!!! Darth Vader is Hungry!!!!!!
Me (wearing my Yoda hat): What would Darth Vader like to eat?
My son: I dunno what Darth Vader eats, but Jar Jar eats Mesa soup.
I really wish I could take credit for that joke. I wish I could take credit for coming up with “Mesa soup“. But alas, my 4-year-old son, came up with both all by himself. I have to say I was a pretty proud.
DIY Lightsaber Hilt Napkin Rings (Part 1)
I have mentioned before that my mom (“M4P Mom”), regularly calls with ideas for the blog. Unfortunately, she has more ideas than we have time. What we really need are some Minions to keep up. (Where are Bob, Kevin, and Stewart when we need them?)
So we have to prioritize – and doing these Lightsaber Hilt Napkin Rings were a no-brainer. I think this is one of the coolest things we have done in a long time, here at May the Fourth Central.
That’s No Waffle. It’s…a…Space Station! (Death Star Waffles)
Common wisdom say that you never, ever give your wife an appliance for her birthday, Christmas or anniversary. I’m lucky to have a hubby who doesn’t listen to convention, ‘cuz he gave me this spectacularly awesome DEATH STAR WAFFLE MAKER. And I want to warn you that it is so majestically incredible, I will only use all caps when referring to it.
So since today is Waffle Day in Sweden, what better way than to celebrate with DEATH STAR WAFFLES!!!!!
DIY AT-AT Star Wars Party Shirt
At long last, here is the final pattern of our popular May the Fourth be with You Party T-shirt series. You can of course use the downloadable patterns for a lot of other things too. I have an etched glass tumbler set in the works, as well as silkscreened place mats. Let us know what you are using them for. Send pictures – we would love to post them on our blog!
