The Force Awakens comes out in 2 weeks. You already have your tickets. You already have a babysitter (if you could find one willing to be at your house until 4 am on a school night. Though I am thinking the Star Wars movie release date and the day after should be considered national holidays.)

You probably already have some sort of costume. (If not, we have plenty of DIY and store bought ideas here on the blog – just remember, no masks or weapons at the cineplex!)

So the remaining question is, have you planned your food?

Can you believe it has been a year ago since we saw the first The Force Awakens Teaser? I had no idea it had been that long… but the upload date for the teaser on YouTube is Nov. 28, 2014. So it really has been a year since all us fans held our collective breaths for 84 seconds.

And we all gasped with excitement when John Boyega (in stormtrooper armor) popped into screen. (Technically, it is of course not possible to gasp if you are holding your breath, but you know what I mean!)

Almost Thanksgiving! This week is going to be a busy one, and I was considering skipping the posts this week. I have mentioned this before, but it deserves repeating: Star Wars is a “chick flick.”

It has love, romance, a smart and beautiful heroine, a scruffy nerfherder with a heart of gold, confused family dynamics, romantic tension, and did I mention LOVE? …. It just also happens to have a bunch space stuff. (They just disguised it as a guy flick – so we can get our dates and hubbies to watch something WE want to watch for once.)

BB-8 Perler Pixel Pattern

The first batch of the M4P The Force Awakens Perler Pixel Patterns are done! #1 and I have completed 9 designs, so that will keep us posting The Force Awakens patterns on our “Pixel Mondays” until the end of the year. And I would think that once we see the movie, we will want to create a few more. I am especially interested in Lupita Nyong’o’s and Andy Serkis’ motion capture characters.

#1 had been looking forward to making BB-8 for months, so it was the first one we completed. It seems to be a good one to start with, here as well.
