My husband doesn’t know it yet, but he is going to be a Wookiee when he takes the kids trick-or-treating this Halloween. (Surprise Honey!) Since trick-or-treating really is for the kids, we adults usually don’t dress, up – other than some nominal Star Wars gear. I usually wear my Yoda Hat, and the hubby carries a light saber, and maybe his Jedi robe (Adult Jedi costume post to come, I promise). This year though, I bought him a Wookiee Jacket to wear. More Star Wars (w)rap! (Yoda Wrapping)
A couple of weeks ago I featured a present wrapped as an Ewok (from M4P friend Gene Ha). Now that we are recovered from all our partying, I am keeping my promise to feature one of his other paper-folding wrappings. So today we have Yoda!
A Gift too Nice to Open! (Ewok Wrapping)
Come on, who does not LOVE getting presents? And who does not LOVE to tear them open right away? Not me, not this time. I recently received 3 small-ish boxes (from M4P friend Gene Ha) wrapped as Star Wars figures, and I just could not imagine that the inside could live up to the awesome outsides. So I didn’t, open them, for a looong, time.
DIY Death Star Soap-on-a-Rope
Does your spouse sing bad, 80’s rock in the shower? Would your life be greatly enhanced by some Star Wars tunes being sung instead? We can take care of that! Introducing the M4P exclusive Death Star Soap-on-a-Rope!
Guaranteed to leave you clean, nice-smelling and ready start every day with a smile and some serious Jedi mojo.
Wedge Antilles Perler Bead Coaster
I had big plans. We were going to be X-Wing pilots for this year’s May the Fourth Party. But plans change. And this time for the better! Instead of making costumes, I have had the pleasure of being part of a big, exciting, creative project of a different sort. It is super secret as of right now, but I will talk about it on my post this Friday!! (Be sure to tune in!)
So, in lieu of our own gear, I am featuring Wedge for our weekly Perler/cross-stitch/Lego/pixel/mosaic pattern.
Tusken Raider (Sand Person) Perler Bead Coaster
You know how you can look at something a thousand times, and still not really see it? Once of the most amazing things about creating, is that it gives you the opportunity to really see something. I obviously had seen Sand people in the movies – lots of times; we even had a Tuskan Raider family at one of our parties (fantastic costumes – post to come!), but I still was really surprised when I sat down to make the pixelated pattern for the Sand people. I simply had never noticed the intricacies of the mask. And I had no idea that they were not allowed to show any part of the skin – I had always assumed this nomadic race used them as a protection against the elements. Of all the pixel patterns, I actually think this was the most fun to make.
