10 days left until Halloween! Not much time if you are making your own costume. We have been tinkering with ours for 2 weeks already, and are not done yet (1 done, 1 halfway done), but we will be done this weekend. However, if you have not started yet, there is still plenty of time to make an original costume: Rey is one of the easiest Star Wars characters to improvise with things you already have at home.

Seeing Red! (DIY Imperial [Red] Guard Costume)
The hubby said it couldn’t be done. So of course I took that as a challenge: the two of us WERE going to be Imperial Guards for the May the Fourth be with You Party!

Last week was an exciting week for our blog: I was interviewed for my very first podcast!!

Forget the balloons at the mailbox! A Star Wars Party deserves some truly special outdoor decorations. So for last year’s May the Fourth be with You Party, Jedi Master Heidi made these banners (and banner stands) for the front entrance of our house. They looked very festive, AND they served as a subtle warning to our neighbors that the Geeks were about to take over the cul-du-sac once again.
DIY R2-D2 Chalkboard Sign
After several years of not being able to “stay on target ” as it were, Jedi Master Heidi decided we needed a sign that listed the activities of our May the Fourth be with You Party. Not that we have THAT many activities, but we are always so busy eating that we forget to make lightsabers… or take a group photo. So to keep us organized, she made these (re-useable) chalkboard signs that R 2 cute…
